Nine Nath and Eighty four (84 ) are well known in Nath sampradaye which I have elaborated in my previous articles.. one or the other way every yogic or tantric tradition can be traced back to base #SHIVA-SHAKTI.. However, small differences do exist. From among 84 siddhars of the Shaiva tradition, nine nathas are called Navanaths (Natha Sampradaya). Matsyendranath is the founder of Nath Sampradaya and Goraknath formalized Goraknath Shaivism.

In Vajrayana Buddhism there are eighty-four Mahasiddhas. There is fair amount of association and similarities in the traditions.Shiva’s abode itself is in Mt.Kailash. Kashmir is not far from Tibet all located in upper himalayan region. Tibet’s Bon religion was mainly #tantrika, mixed with older animist beliefs, and produced siddhas and priests. The Lama tradition developed from a mix of the earlier Bon religion and Buddhist philosophy. Through these developments, the approach to dissolution has more or less been the same. Herein, again, Buddhist belief holds that Gautama Buddha formalized the path after becoming a Shramana renunciate monk) and attained Nirvana, but there existed Buddhas before him. One interesting character in the Himalayan shaivism is Tilopa also a Sidha He was born in the 10th century in India of royal descent, and lived as King, but was dissatisfied with that life. He had a vision of a dakini who told him to go and seek enlightenment so he became a wandering Yogi.He met the famous sage #Nagarjuna, who saw his capacity, and told him to return and serve his people as King. Tilopa used the metaphor of the sesame seed in his teachings….indeed the word Til means sesame seed and that is how he got the name If we go more deeper different forms of #shaivism in india like #tamil, #kashmiri,or any other even in #Jainism we cannot escape from the prominent roles of sidhas..
