Adesh adesh!!
'Shakti' in Sanskrit means ' energy' and ' pat' means ' to fall'. It means ' the transmission of spiritual energy upon one person by another'.
There has been a specific Deeksha in ancient Vedic Culture & Religion known as ' Shaktipat Deeksha' which was first preached by Lord Shiva to Goddess Parvati and has been in existence forever since.

Shaktipat is considered an act of grace ( anugraha) on the part of the Master / Guru. The Master injects a current of psychic power or a doze of astral fluid of high potentiality by the touch of his hands , by casting a look or by speaking out to his disciple some word called 'mantra' or any of God's holy names or simply by a mere thought.
When the Divine power is transmitted, it acts in such a way that the dormant power of kundalini is awakened , which ultimately opens the door of ' sushumna' and rises upto cerebrum ( sahasrar) piercing through the six centres in the body.
In the scriptures of Tantra , 'kundalini shakti' is much talked about. When it reaches the ' Sahasrar chakra' , it becomes one with Shiva along with Jivatma, upon which Jivatma becomes free from the bondage and assumes the form of Parmatma itself. thanks Diksha Tiwana, for valuable contribution..
Besides the Tantric scriptures, it has also been described in the Vedic Upnishads as the ' science of Brahma' and there are several methods prescribed for its awakening. Nine forms of Goddesses i.e Hemavati, Shreevidya, Brahmi, Saraswati, Lakshmi,Navdurga etc. are all said to be the different forms of the awakening of this energy. This is also the creation of Jiva.
For desired results or achievements, the disciple must abide by the instructions of his Guru strictly and obey him with full faith, belief & motivation.
